Nature Leather Organizer

Simple stamping adds tons of personality to the cover of this leather organizer! Various inks create a warm color scheme while some quick and easy embossing adds a bit of texture and dimension. Great for yourself, or as a gift!



 

Heat Setting
Applying an embossing heat tool over stamped or sponged areas will make the ink permanent. Most heat tools are designed to be held 6"-8" above the surface and should be moved back and forth to prevent overheating on one area. For leather, time for heat setting will vary (10-60 seconds) depending on the grade of the leather material. You may wish to first stamp and heat set a small section inside the organizer to determine the best heat setting for your project.

 

Embossing Magic™
Embossing Magic™ is a small pillow you rub on the surface before stamping and embossing it. It prevents embossing powder from adhering to the surface other than where you stamped, so your embossed images are perfect each time!

Supplies:

  • 6"x8" leather-bound organizer
  • Leaves & Acorns rubber stamp (Inkadinkado)
  • Oak Leaf Silhouette rubber stamp (Inkadinkado)
  • dark green chalk ink
  • dark brown chalk ink
  • gold pigment ink
  • Embossing Magic™
  • gold embossing powder
  • leather sealant
  • foam sponge
  • embossing heat tool

Instructions:

  1. Randomly stamp the Oak Leaf Silhouette on the front cover of the organizer with green and brown chalk ink; heat set.
  2. Rub Embossing Magic™ over the front cover. Randomly stamp the Leaves & Acorns on the front cover in gold pigment ink, overlapping the green and brown leaves. With the gold ink still wet, sprinkle gold embossing powder over the Leaves & Acorns; heat set.
  3. Lightly sponge brown chalk ink around the edges of the organizer cover; heat set and let dry thoroughly.
  4. Apply a coat of leather sealant over the front cover of the organizer; let dry. Repeat all steps for the back cover.
