Renaissance Mosaic Bookmark

Tired of dog-eared book pages? This chic bookmark project is quick and easy, and you can use it right away!





Supplies:

  • Renaissance Mosaic rubber stamp
  • white cardstock
  • burgundy cardstock
  • Chalk inks: Spanish sand, espresso and painted desert
  • gold metallic pigment inkpad
  • gold embossing powder
  • liquid clear gloss varnish
  • burgundy embroidery floss
  • 3/16” gold eyelets
  • 1/2” wide foam brush
  • stipple brush
  • foam sponge
  • embossing heat tool
  • glue stick

Instructions:

  1. Cut a 2 1/8”x5 1/4” piece of white cardstock. Stamp the Renaissance Mosaic stamp onto cardstock in red ink. Using a foam sponge, randomly sponge tan and brown inks onto the cardstock and heat set using an embossing heat tool.
  2. Using a stipple brush, apply gold pigment ink to the top left corner, bottom right corner, and lower left edge of the cardstock. Sprinkle gold embossing powder on top of the wet ink and set using with the embossing heat tool. Using a foam brush, apply a coat of liquid clear gloss varnish over the cardstock; let dry
  3. Cut a 2 3/8”x5 1/2” piece of burgundy cardstock. Center the white cardstock on the burgundy cardstock. Add a gold eyelet in each corner of the white cardstock to secure the two layers of cardstock together
  4. Cut a 10” length of burgundy embroidery floss. Fold the length in half, then thread the loop through the eyelet in the upper left corner. Pull the ends of
