Note Box & Note Cards
By LeNae Gerig

Give this creative and functional note box to a friend to inspire them to write often, or keep it for yourself! You can even personalize it with your friend's or your own name and favorite colors.

Supplies:

Instructions:

For the Box:

  1. Tear an 8 1/2"x6" rectangle from the corner of a sheet of green sponged paper. From the remaining paper, tear two 2"x12" strips and one 2"x8" strip. Center one of the 12" strips along the front side of the box, wrapping the ends to each side, and secure with a glue stick. Continue with the other strips around all edges of the box. Glue the rectangle centered on the box lid.
  2. Tear a 4 3/4"x2" strip of white cardstock and chalk the edges with pink. Cut out alphabet tiles to spell ¡§notes" and glue them onto the cardstock, alternating angles. Glue the cardstock piece centered on the lid.
  3. Cut a 3 1/2" length of pink and green striped ribbon, trimming each tail at an angle. Knot the center of the ribbon length and attach it to the box lid above the word "notes" using a Glue Dot™.
  4. Cut two 20" lengths of pink and green striped ribbon. Fold and glue 1/2" of one ribbon end to the inside front of the box, 1 1/2" in from the left edge. Wrap and glue the ribbon down the front, across the bottom, up the back and onto the lid, then fold the end into the lid inside and secure in place. Repeat for the right side of the box. Cut two 6" lengths of pink and green striped ribbon and tie each length into a shoestring bow. Glue the bows on top of the ribbon strips on the front edge of the box lid using Glue Dots™.

For the Note Cards:

  1. Cut three 4"x12" strips from the remaining green sponged paper. Fold each strip in half to form a 6"x4" card.
  2. Cut six 6" lengths of white stitches on green ribbon. Glue one length horizontally to the front of each card, 3/4" below the top edge. Tie the remaining three ribbon lengths into shoestring bows, trimming the tails at an angle. Attach one bow to the left side of the ribbon strip on each card using Glue Dots™. Place the note cards in the note box.
